Fall 2010 Soccer

What team is my child on?

I haven't heard from my coach yet and my friends children already are starting.

I need to plan my schedule, when are my practices?

These are the typical questions we are receiving this time of year. Please be patient and consider that your coach is still in the process of organizing their team and will be contacting you very soon. Some coaches are ready to start sooner than others. If you have not heard from your coach by August 30, please email the division coordinator for your age group. See the list of coordinators here

Opening day and team pictures is Sept 11 at Ortega School.

UK AYSO Soccer Camps

AYSO Soccer Camps are coming to PACIFICA AYSO REGION 157!

AYSO Community Day Camps create an environment that is fun and conducive to learning for all ages and levels of ability, and does it on the fields the kids already know and love. With solid grounding in AYSO's philosophies and coaching programs, AYSO Soccer Camps
work with kids on skills and activities appropriate to their age and skill level.

AYSO Soccer Camps are conducted by the best nationally and internationally qualified coaches recruited and trained by UK International Soccer Camps.

UK International is the only organization whose coaches, primarily from Great Britain, are SafeHaven certified, AYSO Coach Instructors, and trained in AYSO philosophies. Coaches are selected not only for their knowledge and their coaching ability, but also for their commitment to creating a fun, positive learning environment for the players. The result is a soccer camp experience players will remember for a lifetime.

The AYSO Soccer Camp curriculum has been developed by AYSO in conjunction with some of the highest-level camp trainers in the country, and is approved by AYSO National Coach John Ouellette.

All camp sessions are based on individual attention to ball skills, as well as fun games to put those skills into practice and develop teamwork. Players are encouraged to express themselves in order to develop confidence and individual creativity on the field.

Pacifica Camp dates and sign up information: August 16th - August 20th 2010

PARENTS GUIDE - ABCs of AYSO click here

Give your child the opportunity to play soccer and learn about life, sportsmanship, and the fun of competition and physical activity with a soccer program that has been kicking around since 1964. Questions about the rules of soccer, how AYSO works, what is expected from our coaches and our parents? Check out the new Parents Guide.

AYSO's Six Philosophies

AYSO's philosophies are living tenets that separate it from other sports organizations. They are Everyone Plays®, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship and Player Development.

Everyone Plays®

Our program's goal is for kids to play soccer so we mandate that every player on every team must play at least 50% of every game. It’s no fun to spend the game on the bench…and that’s no way to learn soccer!

Balanced Teams

Each year we form new teams as evenly balanced as possible because it’s more fun and a better learning experience when teams of similar ability play. It allows for each player to gain the experience of a wide variety of teammates of different skill levels.

Open Registration

Our program is open to all children between 4 and 19 years of age who want to register and play soccer. Interest and enthusiasm are the only criteria for playing. There are no elimination try-outs and nobody gets cut.

Positive Coaching

Encouragement of player effort provides for greater enjoyment for the players and leads to better-skilled and better-motivated players. A coach can be one of the most influential people in a child’s life, so AYSO requires they create a positive experience for every boy and girl.

Good Sportsmanship

We strive to create a positive environment based on mutual respect rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude, and our program is designed to instill good sportsmanship in every facet of AYSO.

Player Development

We believe that all players should be able to develop their soccer skills and knowledge to the best of their abilities, both individually and as members of a team, in order to maximize their enjoyment of the game.
